The area around the hotel sits on reclaimed land. Much of the Schiphol region historically consisted of lakes and wetlands that were drained in the 19th century as part of the Netherlands’ famous polder engineering projects. Schiphol Airport itself lies several meters below sea level, meaning the hotel indirectly sits within one of the world’s most intensively managed water-control landscapes.

The venue also offers discounted parking for attendees at €12.00 per day. There are normally lots of spaces available but it does work on a first come first served basis. The car park is located directly underneath the hotel.
